Wireless networks in BAnQ's facilities

You can access the Internet through a wireless network provided in every facility of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ). In the three Montréal-based BAnQ facilities, you can also connect to MTLWiFi, the city of Montreal's network.

In all BAnQ facilities

Who can use it?

Any patron whose account is in good standing or who has a visitor' card.


Requires you to log in with your BAnQ client number and password each time you use it.

Access to BAnQ'S digital resources

Allows you to access all the digital resources, including the ones that are only accessible on-site.


Where is it available?

In the three Montréal-based BAnQ facilities:

Grande Bibliothèque, BAnQ Rosemont ̶ La Petite-Patrie and BAnQ Vieux-Montréal.

Who can use it?



No login required.

Once a device has accessed the network, from any of the city of Montréal's access points, it will automatically reconnect to it when available.

Access to BAnQ'S digital resources

The access conditions are the same as when you're not in BAnQ's facilities, i.e., you won't be able to access the resources that are reserved for on-site use only. To access them, connect to BAnQ_Public.
